Ulysse Nardin arrives at Watches and Wonders 2026 with a landmark 25 years in the making. The Super Freak, limited to just 50 pieces, is the culmination of 180 years of legacy and a quarter century of pushing the Freak collection to its absolute limits. It is the most complicated time-only watch ever created and it wears that distinction with the same fearless conviction that launched the original Freak in 2001.

A MOVEMENT UNLIKE ANY OTHER
At the heart of the Super Freak beats the new calibre UN-252, a 511-component architecture that took four years to develop. It introduces the world's first automatic double tourbillon, two titanium flying tourbillons inclined at 10 degrees, rotating in opposite directions, each completing a full revolution every 60 seconds. A new patented gimbal system, measuring just 4.8mm and the smallest of its kind ever made, enables a seconds display within this extraordinary construction. The world's smallest vertical differential, comprising 69 components and eight ceramic ball bearings, synchronises the two tourbillons and ensures absolute precision. Powering it all is the patented Grinder® winding system, recognised as the most efficient automatic winding system ever developed.

TECHNOLOGY FORGED BY HAND
More than 70% of the Super Freak's components are finished entirely by hand, a remarkable achievement given that titanium, the material of choice for its bridges, demands twice the finishing time of traditional brass. Ten silicon components, including two DIAMonSIL escapements coated with diamond hardness, bring Ulysse Nardin's own material expertise to bear. The transparent blue Nanosital hour disc, rotating once every 12 hours, opens the dial to reveal the living mechanics beneath. Each of the 50 watches is assembled from start to finish by a single watchmaker, across 60 hours of work, followed by five days of chronometric testing.
