DAY ONE BEGINS
Ahmed Seddiqi opened the first day by reflecting on Dubai Watch Week as a celebration of time, setting a thoughtful note for what followed. With over 90 brands on display, including 29 joining for the first time, the day moved between launches, limited editions and curated exhibitions, including official unveilings linked to the 75th anniversary and the stories that shaped this milestone year.
DAY 1 UNVEILINGS
The Time to Act is Now
The conversation brought together Abdul Hamied Seddiqi, Chairman of Seddiqi Holding, and Jean-Frederic Dufour, Chief Executive Officer of Rolex, in a dialogue that examined the responsibilities shaping the future of watchmaking. Guided by reflections on heritage, trust and long-standing partnership, the discussion explored how the industry can continue to preserve craft while welcoming new generations into the field. Both leaders spoke about the value of human connection, the need to transmit knowledge and the importance of collaboration between maisons and retailers.
CEO ROUND TABLE
The CEO Roundtable brought together Ilaria Resta, Chief Executive Officer of Audemars Piguet, Karl-Friedrich Scheufele, Co-President of Chopard, Georges Kern, Chief Executive Officer of Breitling, and Julien Tournaire, Chief Executive Officer of Hublot. Their discussion looked at the realities shaping watchmaking today, from unpredictable markets to the long process required to develop and produce a mechanical watch. The conversation returned to the emotional value of mechanical pieces, centred on the idea that craft, story and human connection shape why people choose them. Each leader highlighted the importance of preserving knowledge, supporting new talent and building genuine relationships with clients as the foundation for the industry’s future.
INSIDE THE COLLECTORS LOUNGE
Watches with distinct details and thoughtful stories shaped the atmosphere in the Lounge, with the 75th Gala Wall offering a subtle reflection of the journey behind this milestone year. The launch of Strata by Vyntage Horology added a measured highlight to the space and formed part of the day’s broader movement through design and craft.
