Introducing the TYPE 9 S75
Created to mark Ahmed Seddiqi’s 75th anniversary, the TYPE 9 S75 is a limited-edition collaboration with renowned independent watchmaker Ressence. With only 20 pieces made (and now entirely sold out), the piece stands as a tribute to legacy, design, and cultural identity.
Crafted with sand from the seven Emirates
The highlight of this piece is its sand-filled dial, designed using real grains collected equally from each of the seven Emirates. The textured surface captures the quiet movement of time while anchoring the watch in a powerful sense of place. A camel leather strap adds to the regional symbolism, pairing naturally with Ressence’s contemporary aesthetic.
Ressence design, redefined through heritage
True to Ressence’s minimal design philosophy, the TYPE 9 S75 features the brand’s signature ROCS (Ressence Orbital Convex System), which uses rotating discs instead of traditional hands. The visual motion mirrors the shifting dunes of the desert, while polished Grade 5 titanium keeps the 39mm case exceptionally light (just 39 grams). Other refined details include a luminous green Super-LumiNova finish for visibility, a 36-hour power reserve, and a self-winding movement manufactured in Switzerland. The result is a seamless blend of innovation, clarity, and cultural resemblance.
An edition that celebrates time and legacy
Though no longer available, the TYPE 9 S75 lives on as a collector’s item, one that reflects 75 years of watchmaking leadership at Ahmed Seddiqi. A rare piece born out of collaboration and culture, now secured by collectors who value design with meaning.
