BELL & ROSS UNVEILS THE BR-X3 TOURBILLON MICRO-ROTOR IN FULL BLUE SAPPHIRE
For Dubai Watch Week 2025, Bell & Ross debuts a timepiece that reframes horological transparency. The BR-X3 Tourbillon Micro-Rotor, encased entirely in blue sapphire, brings the brand’s passion for technical mastery and material innovation into full view.
A CASE OF PURE CLARITY
The BR-X3’s case is sculpted from five blocks of blue sapphire, an engineering feat that results in both visual impact and structural finesse. Sapphire’s extreme hardness makes it one of the most challenging materials to work with, and Bell & Ross has pushed its limits here. Every facet of the case is cut, milled, and polished with precision to create the watch’s angular, architectural silhouette. The transparency reveals the open-worked movement inside, letting light travel through the timepiece as it rests on the wrist.
Within the crystal-clear case, the BR-CAL.383 calibre commands attention. Designed in the shape of an "X" bridge, a visual nod to the X in the model’s name, the manual-winding movement features a flying tourbillon at 6 o’clock and a micro-rotor at 12. The tourbillon cage rotates freely without the use of an upper bridge, further enhancing the floating sensation at the heart of the design. Despite its mechanical complexity, the movement remains ultralight thanks to the use of grade 5 titanium for the mainplate and bridges, and tungsten for the oscillating weight. A 3-day power reserve ensures consistent performance, while the tourbillon delivers the precision Bell & Ross is known for.
DESIGNED FOR IMPACT
Paired with a translucent blue rubber strap, the BR-X3 is bold, futuristic, and sculptural, continuing Bell & Ross’s evolution beyond cockpit instrumentation toward experimental materials and high horology. Only five pieces of this edition exist, underscoring its rarity and the level of craftsmanship required to realise it.
