ATELIER WEN X AHMED SEDDIQI INTRODUCE THE INFLECTION
A STORY HONOURED IN CRAFT
Marking a 75-year milestone, Ahmed Seddiqi partners with independent watchmaker Atelier Wen to present the Inflection. Limited to ten pieces, the creation brings together cultural symbolism, rare materials, and meticulous craft. It speaks to two houses shaped by distinct traditions.
THE CRAFTED SURFACE
The Inflection centres around its crimson grand feu enamel dial. Beneath the translucent enamel lies textured 24-carat gold foil, creating shifting depths that respond to light with warmth. Alternating Chinese and Eastern Arabic numerals reinterpret the California-style layout, symbolising a bridge between cultures. Framed by Atelier Wen’s signature minute track, the dial embodies balance, continuity, and the harmony between past and present.
The case and integrated bracelet are made entirely from 99.9 percent tantalum, a rare and demanding metal known for its density, resilience, and deep blue-grey tone. Perfecting the blend of brushed, frosted, and polished surfaces across its curved architecture required more than three years of research and development. This interplay of finishes echoes the Chinese philosophy of阴(yīn) and阳(yáng), where light and shadow, weight and fluidity coexist. Inside, the customised Girard-Perregaux 03300 calibre continues this dialogue, with bridges shaped by sweeping, wind-inspired motifs drawn from traditional Chinese art and brought to life through meticulous hand finishing.

With only ten individually numbered pieces, the Inflection edition commemorates a defining moment for both brands. It honours Ahmed Seddiqi’s 75-year legacy in advancing watch culture in the Middle East and reflects Atelier Wen’s commitment to elevating modern Chinese watchmaking through design, craft, and cultural expression.
