For Mohammed Abdulmagied Seddiqi, the watch industry is part of his DNA. His personal collection of watches is a collectors dream and he can name every model and component.
His most treasured memento is his first, which his father Abdul Magied Seddiqi gave him. He has fond memories of spending time at his grandfather’s house, eagerly opening the boxes of watches which arrived from international shores.
Mohammed, a third generation member of the Seddiqi family, studied Marketing Management in Geneva, Switzerland.
Whilst studying, he worked part-time at Chopard, where he gained more insight into the precision and science of horology, or watchmaking.
After graduating, Mohammed returned to the United Arab Emirates and began in the tourism and hospitality industry.
However, watchmaking was always his passion and he would spend his evenings in the family showrooms, helping the sales assistants.
In 2004, Mohammed joined the company to assist with the new strategy - the company had undergone a rapid expansion and the third generation of the Seddiqi family had already stepped in.
As the Vice President of Sales and Retail, Mohammed is responsible for the merchandising of stores and showrooms. His day-to-day duties include liaising with brand managers and suppliers, and ensuring that stock levels are maintained. He is a member of the Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons Executive Committee and is also on the Board of Directors.
A father of three, Mohammed spends every free moment with his family and pursuing his many hobbies, which include swimming, watching movies and gastronomy.
