Mahra Abdulmagied SeddiqiLuxury Division Director
Mahra Seddiqi’s passion for luxury watches began at the age of nine, when she received a Rolex. She treasured the watch, and passed it on to her young daughter to continue the tradition.
Mahra is the daughter of the Chairman, Abdulmagied Seddiqi the second son of the late Ahmed Seddiqi, and a member of the Executive Committee.
Although she studied technology, Mahra was drawn to the world of luxury watches. Mahra attained a Bachelor of Arts’ Degree in Technologies & Business Studies, as a scholarship student, at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland.
Her studies gave her an ideal background for the science of watchmaking, covering the facets of manufacturing and engineering, as well as marketing.
While still studying, Mahra began to gain experience in luxury brands – as an intern at the head office of Chopard in Florsheim, Germany.
After graduating in 1996, Mahra returned to Dubai and continued her career with Chopard, working as a sales representative at the Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons Chopard showroom. Mahra was the first female Seddiqi member to join the family business.
She discovered her affinity with expressing the values of the luxury brand and relished in building relationships with the clientele.
After working at the Chopard showrooms in Dubai for 11 years, Mahra joined her brother in the corporate office of Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons, heading up the Luxury Brands Division.
Her role involves overseeing the logistics, merchandising and marketing activities for Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons’ 40 luxury brands. She prides herself on adding a personal touch to her work – and often personally calls customers when she sees a new watch in stock which would suit them.
Outside of her demanding job, Mahra is kept busy with her four children and just like her father and bothers, a taste for traveling.
